As Humans we all go through cycles in how we excel and when we feel blocked.
I spent most of my life & professional career in London where I was exposed to intense energy on a daily basis. I was constantly surrounded by exceptional individuals in work & in life: from creatives, executives, start-up founders to business owners who were pushing their limits to succeed & excel. It was amazing.
The city was coaching me, leaving me energised and challenged at the same time. London taught me how to hustle, hold my ground & embrace self-expression.
By founding OYA & working in venture capital, I am constantly exposed to some of the most intelligent & inspiring minds I have ever met who have the desire to change the world and build businesses to solve challenging problems in today’s digital age.
From this work, I have developed tremendous respect for what it takes to be a founder, but I was also exposed to the intense emotions & distress that comes with fundraising, building a business and maintaining balance.
I started observing a huge shift in the need for conscious awareness in founders and their teams. With the general rise of depression & anxiety, it was clear to me that many of us are not understanding the power of the mind.
This led me into diving deeper into neuroscience & performance coaching. I now specialise in the field of tech & business as an executive & performance coach.
Neuro-performance is a brain based coaching method. As a facilitator, I use neuroscience based toolkits to help improve performance in business & overall wellbeing.
The foundation of my training methods involve Neuro-linguistic programming techniques. NLP was founded by John Grinder & Richard Bandler, through their fascination with human excellence which inspired them to model behavioural patterns of selected geniuses. They studied how some of the best communicators in the world got their results and packaged their learnings into ‘NLP models’ of which are transformational.
NLP is also used for personal development and for success in business & executives. It can provide you with a methodology to model outstanding performances achieved by geniuses & leaders in their field.NLPAcademy
A key element of NLP is that we form our unique internal mental maps of the world as a product of the way we filter & perceive information absorbed through our five senses.
The Process of Self-Coaching & Healing:
How do we heal ourselves? By believing with full conviction that we can. That we have the tools & resources to overcome anything from within.
I strongly believe that we all have the power to heal ourselves with our minds.
I also strongly believe that we can only begin to heal ourselves when we begin to observe energy. This includes paying attention to the energy we are exhibiting to the world & the energy that surrounds us with full awareness.
Every individual’s energy is a result of several factors. This includes: mindset, past experience, dominant thought patterns and their perception of the world.
We each see the world through our own unique lens based on how we have responded to events & experiences in our lives which in turn have shaped our belief systems and “identity”.
Our “identity” is driven by our ego which is often what confuses us in helping us understand what we desire & fear. Our Ego is the main reason we intellectualize our emotions. It is also the main reason to why our internal dialogue can take over as we try and identify with our internal & external realities.
However, Ego also gives us individuality.
Once we learn to observe our ego, we transform our reality.
Who are We?
We are all on our private journey with an entire world inside of us that evolves on a daily basis.
We are each highly unique & complex in our desires & fears. We can go through the same experience, but that moment can mean something entirely different to each of us.
As we weave in and out of new life experiences, I think it is critical to understand the power of identifying with our reality with love & compassion.
Life & people can surprise us in the most unexpected ways.
Some ways will hurt us, others will teach & heal us.
Some will challenge us. Others will change us forever where we can no longer identify with our past selves & beliefs. This is the beauty of life. This is Growth. This is Evolution.
When we feel tension from within, regardless of a trigger. We are being signalled to react – whether its to a thought or life experience. These triggers are our opportunities to evolve. Our evolution in this case is dependent on how we choose to react.
We very often condition our reactions once they have served us. On a primitive level, our nervous system does this to help us survive. We naturally respond with behaviours & thought patterns based on what has worked for us in the past which we then use as an anchor for future events.
However as every experience is unique on its own, consisting of different triggers, our reactions also must evolve so we don’t condition ourselves to respond with destructive behavioural patterns.
As a coach and facilitator, I observe all my clients as my teachers.
In every session, I am responding to both conscious & unconscious signals that I then use as a guide to facilitate self-healing.
I am not the healer nor the one doing the work. I am the guide. You are the healer.
I chose this path of work because I am aware one of my gifts is holding space for others and to listen. I pay attention. I choose to pay attention. I don’t ignore my own pain & suffering nor the pain & suffering of others and I prioritise my own evolution & growth as a human being as I share this existence with you.
Every context with everybody I work with is unique and gives me a new foundation to build & inspire the processes that I have been trained to use in new ways. For that I am grateful.
My purpose with coaching is to bridge the gap between science & leadership.
I want to bring in a deeper and more thorough understanding of neurology & physiology to help people understand how they are wired to become better leaders in business & prioritise balance in their lives.
I want to guide others in trusting & believing that they have the resources to overcome all obstacles & suffering.
To show up for ourselves & others with compassion & unconditional love.
To feel empowered & wake up with purpose.
To no longer play the victim to our life experience.
To deepen our understanding of pain.
To rewire our minds & body.
So we can live in accordance with our truth.
